About Us

Who are we?

MECMAC was formed in 2000 by the merger of the Assyrian Refugees Relief Foundation and the Assyrian Culture and Advice Centre. The centre has been working for Middle Eastern people since 1991 but has recently provided service to clients from Russia, Africa, India and even to local residents.

Who are our Clients

Our clients are refugees and asylum seekers from the Middle East, principally but not exclusively Iraq especially those whose applications for asylum have been refused and are subject to deportation.

MECMAC treats all its service users equally and does not discriminate against anyone on the grounds of race, colour, gender, disability, ethnic origin, culture, religion or nationality.

Languages

Our advisers speak Assyrian, Arabic, English, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Gujerati.
